Maria was trapped in a cycle of working a stressful job, reaching for sugary snacks for energy and then hating herself for it.

As a long-time gym member, Maria had never had the motivation to push herself to achieve the body she truly wanted.

After feeling ashamed of her size while trying on bridesmaids’ dresses for a family wedding, Maria realized her self-esteem had hit rock bottom. It was time for change.

Since joining Steven's custom diet and nutrition program, Maria has lost an amazing 44lbs, Her transformation has taught her to love taking care of herself, which has allowed her to be more ambitious at work and in her everyday life.

Prior to her transformation, Maria's routine was chaotic. Having many responsibilities at work left her with a poor routine and diet.

Putting social engagements over her health, Maria would regularly drink alcohol and go out for meals, ordering takeaways instead of cooking nutritious foods.

Despite being a member of a gym for many years, Maria could never push herself to exercise regularly, causing her fitness levels to rapidly decrease.

“My previous lifestyle habits made me feel miserable.

“My diet before starting my custom plan. was terrible. I didn’t eat well. I’d eat a healthy breakfast, then I’d have a small lunch with vegetables, but then I’d get a takeaway in the evening.

“I went out a lot and drank a lot – it wasn’t good. I didn’t have healthy habits.”

With her sister’s wedding on the horizon, Maria was regularly pushed out of her comfort zone by trying on dresses.

As the heaviest one in the group, she felt insecure and ashamed of her figure, concerned that the dresses would not fit properly.

Realizing that her confidence had plummeted, Maria decided it was time for a drastic lifestyle change.

As her husband had completed a transformation himself, she knew the kind of results to expect.

“What motivated me was a bridesmaid dress fitting. I’d been unhappy for a while but hadn’t done anything. Everyone there was a size 8-10 and I was the only one there in a size 16.

“In the pictures of the fitting, I was fake happy and pretending to smile.

“Being overweight affected me because I had zero confidence. I’d get ready in baggy clothes, ask my husband if I looked okay because I didn’t feel confident.”

Maria rapidly started seeing results. As the weight fell away, she threw herself into new and exciting challenges, perfecting the techniques required to weight train.

After relying purely on cardio and restricting her food, only to binge later on, Maria was fascinated to realize that you could lose weight while remaining fulfilled.

“I started seeing results after six to eight weeks. My waist was getting smaller, and my clothes were getting baggier. It made me feel great.

“I was always a member of a gym, but I did more cardio. I played team sports. I’d never done weight training before. I thought I’d get laughed at.”

Previously worried that weight training would make her look too muscular, Maria quickly discovered that this couldn’t be further from the truth.

Having always been in the dark when it came to nutrition, working with her trainer allowed Maria to educate herself on how to stay full for as long as possible.

“The myth that weight training makes you bulky is an absolute lie. I think more women just need to try it and challenge yourself.

“There’s education here, and I never had that before. I thought I had to do loads of cardio, burn loads of calories and not eat very much before.

“Here, you learn how to fit your diet around your lifestyle – you don’t have to starve yourself.”

When it came to fitting the program around her lifestyle, Maria was surprised to realize how flexible sessions could be.

Previously lacking enough energy to get through the day, she now felt motivated and enthusiastic, brimming with enough confidence to pursue her career goals.

“I went for a promotion at work which I never would have ordinarily done.

“Training has improved my life at work because I’m so much better concentration-wise. I start my day earlier, I go to bed earlier, I don’t feel the need to snack on rubbish.”

Thanks to her new lease of life,Maria is now looking forward to the wedding that she once dreaded.

Excited to show off her new physique, Maria described how weight training had allowed her to achieve the body she had always wanted.

Despite being apprehensive at first, the progress she made allowed her to discover her true potential, in relation to work and her everyday life. Now, her smile speaks for itself.

“It shows you that you can do anything. If you want it enough, you can do it.

“I genuinely enjoy coming to the gym now. I enjoy every single session.

“Training here has made me love it. I like progressing. I like how it feels to get that extra rep. It shapes you in a different way to cardio.
