Multigrain vs. Whole Grain: What’s the Difference?

"Multigrain" and "whole grain" are not the same thing. This means that the bran, germ, and endosperm of the grain are all used.

Multigrain, on the other hand, means that a food has more than one type of grain, but not all of them have to be whole grains. So does the term "seven grain."


Whole-grain foods are good for you because they have a lot of nutrients, fiber, and other healthy plant compounds that are found in the grain itself.


The first thing you should look for in a product is "whole wheat," "whole oats," or another whole grain.


There are many types of whole grains that are good for you, but "whole wheat" refers to the grain that was used.


Both terms could be used to describe a food that has a lot of fiber, a lot of B vitamins, and a lot of minerals.
